A slight pain in teeth needs not to be considered an emergency. It can be due to intense hot or cold temperatures. (It should be mentioned to your dentist on your next roteen visit) But if the pain carries on (is lingering) after the hot or cold food is swallowed, one should call the dentist as soon as possible. Short duration pains are sometimes reflecting what you eat, how the weather around us (sinusitis is a culprit) is and how our general health is. Continuous pain must not be neglected. One simply cannot ignore that very irritating and hurting pain that would continue for a few minutes with all its intensity. If you are experiencing such a pain call a dentist immediately.
